Sumak Allpa Project
Our Goals:

  • Restore the Endangered Primates of the Rio Napo

  • Educate the children in the Amazon basin

Immediate Needs

  • Install fresh water solar powered well and pump

  • Fund salaries for one grade school and one high school teacher

  • Purchase new canoe and motor for school bus

  • Publish indigenous language textbook

Long Term Goals

  • Purchase of 240 Hectare to begin agricultural project to provide sustainable income for support of the school and community

  • Fund one additional teacher position

Ways you can help:

Volunteering and Donations

Volunteers help build school buildings, the fishery, teach English and track monkey families.  It is a fun and educational experience for the volunteer.

Donations are desperately needed to fund the teachers' salaries, buy a new, bigger school bus boat, provide fresh water for the students and create a bi-lingual, bi-cultural textbook for the children.  Will you please help us?  Send your tax deductible donation to:

Amazonia Cultural & Educational Foundation, Inc.
16210 Jupiter Farms Rd.
Jupiter, Fl. 33478

Hector and the children and families of Sumak Allpa thank you for your generosity!

This is the new fiberglass boat we want to buy for a school bus, plus a new 40 or 50 hp motor.  This boat and a new motor should last 15 years.  The old, wood boat leaks, and the small Peke-Peke motor is in constant need of repair.
