Machu Pichu
with Amazon John Easterling
June, 2008

Here's the Amazon Herb contingent at Machu Pichu, with Laurie on the far right and me next to her.  That's me in the second photo, and Laurie in the third photo.

Due to an airline strike, our plane from the jungle to the Sacred Valley was cancelled, so we took a flight south to the edge of Lake Titicaca.  From their, we drove north along the Pan American Highway, through the Andes.

Moonlight over the mountains

We left our hotel in the Sacred Valley about 5 am to take the first train to Machu Pichu.  As you can see, the day is spectacular, with clear blue skies and no breeze, just cool and invigorating.

We spent the day wandering the ruins, meditating, listening to guides, and finding our own peace in this unique environment.

Years ago, a sound-frequency healing teacher explained how the small, windowless rooms in one section of the ruins were healing rooms.  According to her, when a musical note or tone was played in each room, the sound resonated at a particular frequency and helped heal the patient sitting in the room.  I have no idea whether this is accurate or not, but I had fun exploring the rooms and listening to the different tones echoed in each room!

Leaving Pucallpa for the jungle lodge
we will be staying at for several days.
