Interview with Dr. Jack
Hinze
The
following is an interview (1997) with Dr. Jack Hinze,
Pharm. D., N.D., expert on the Spagyric
Processing.
Amazon Superfoods:
Welcome,
Dr. Hinze. Could you give us a little history of
Spagyric Processing?
Dr.
Hinze:
The process was actually developed in the 15th century
by a gentleman by the name of Paracelsus, who was
considered to be a physician in his time. He was
somewhat ahead of his time, some of the things he
brought forth were things that were used centuries after
him. Hahneman, who was considered the father of
homeopathy, took some of his information from
Paracelsus.
The information he wrote about the spagyric process is
very incomplete and I stumbled on to the writings and
information about 15 years ago. A laboratory in Utah was
using it, and had perfected it. A very wise and elderly
gentleman from Germany had worked on it for a long time.
I began to work with him, however, he decided to leave
this earth.
I spent the next four years doing research for myself to
determine how he was able to bring a plant in solid form
to a completely liquid form. This is really what the
spagyric process does. We have done much to refine the
process.
Amazon Superfoods:
Can you tell us why spagyric processing is superior to
other extraction methods?
Dr.
Hinze:
Other extraction processes make a percolation, like a
tea, and then the plant material, or mark, is thrown
away. We know the mark contains numerous quantities of
medicinal and nutritional properties, including
glycosides, which are very medicinal in themselves, and
trace minerals which are locked up in the matrix, the
cellulite, and cannot be released via water or alcohol
extraction, and are lost in those processes.
In our process, depending on the botanical, the plant is
put through multiple extractions, water, alcohol,
combination of both - in the right order for that
particular plant. Then the mark is put through a process
that liquefies it. In other words, what is left in your
tea bag turns into a liquid.
At that point we have released from that cellulose, from
that matrix, all the trace minerals and trapped
glycosides. Those are really key because most
botanicals, most herbals, work primarily by their
ability to provide large amounts of trace minerals. What
you actually have is a plant that has been completely
liquefied.
Amazon Superfoods:
So everything that the Indians have in their jungle teas
are in the bottle of formula we take?
Dr. Hinze:
That is correct. We throw nothing away. Actually, we
have a bit more, because the Indians throw away the
trace minerals!
The real strength of these Amazon Herb products is the
vast array of phyto-nutritional compounds inherent in
these plants.
